As the sun beats through the window you think of summer sun, the beach, bikinis, everything that summer should be. So why are you sitting on your couch? Get up, get out, get some drinks and party on the beach with today’s Swoop: $5 for entry to the Volleywood beach party on Saturday, July 7 at North Avenue beach from Chicago Sport and Social Club, presented by Barefoot Wine and Bubbly (a $10 value).

Voted one of Chicago's top five parties of 2011 by NBC Chicago, you don't want to miss out on the only time you can drink on North Avenue beach. The largest volleyball tournament in the Midwest will kick off the day’s festivities at 8 a.m. with more than 300 teams competing. Then get your sunblock on, because the party starts at noon. Two concession stands will have food and drinks, such as Barefoot wine and sangria, Coors Light beer and non-alcoholic beverages. You can drink and dance in the sand as renowned Chicago DJs and live performers play the soundtrack to your summer. Singer and DJ Havana Brown headlines the entertainment; she's best known for her hit song “We Run the Night” with Pit Bull. Other special performances include DJ Rock City, DJ Dante the Don and Too White Crew. In this private part of the beach, music will be pumping, cold drinks will be flowing and hundreds of Chicagoans will be dancing. So swoop in on today’s deal to find out what summer should be.
