Swoop Scoop

When you hear “ballroom dancing,” your mind begins to wander, bringing visions of society balls and Jane Austen novels (the ones you read CliffsNotes for in high school). But in our modern age, ballroom dancing isn’t just for old fogeys and the bourgeoisie anymore. However, like most sophisticated pleasures, dancing, in any of its forms, requires some cultivation and education before you can enjoy it. Refine yourself and start mastering a new dance style with today’s Swoop from Sway Dance. Choose from the following options:

  • $30 for 6 one-hour Ballroom Level 1, Latin Level 1, or Swing Level 1 group classes (a $70 value)
  • $100 for 3 private 45-minute dance preparation classes for up to two people (a $150 value)
  • $250 3 private event-preparation 45-minute dance classes with 2-hr photo shoot that includes 20 prints (a $550 value)
  • Sway Dance offers both group and private lessons for would-be dancers. Their beginning ballroom and Latin classes give a six-week crash course in several quintessential styles. Ballroom teaches the old standbys that everyone should know, including the waltz, foxtrot and tango. For those whose style is more Dirty Dancing than Pride and Prejudice, the Latin classes offer instruction in the merengue, salsa and bachata. And if you’re more advanced, want more personalized feedback or need to get ready for an event quickly (say, your wedding), private lessons or dance-preparation classes can help you pick up the basics and then some in no time flat. Sway also works with Michael at Day1Weddings. Michael spent 8 years as a photographer for the Chicago Sun-Times Media Group. Since then, Michael moved forward in his pursuit to create timeless art ideal for any occasion. Certified, experienced instructors will work with you on dance styles that strike your fancy, and if you’re planning your big day, they’ll help you pick a song and choreograph a flawless first dance to it. Swoop in on today’s deal for dancing skills that would put the most experienced aristocrat to shame.
