Swoop Scoop

When it comes to two wheels, your bike can feel like the same routine, round and round. You want adventure, but it’s not like the Windy City has mountains for you to take on. But Chicago’s nights out are always a blast. Go on a night time urban biking adventure with today’s Swoop: $30 for registration for The L.A.T.E Ride, a Chicago bike adventure from 1 a.m. to sunrise on July 1 (a $45 value).

The ride begins at 1 a.m. on July 1 —or the night of June 30 at 10:30 p.m. with live music, refreshments and snacks— at Buckingham Fountain. You’ll start with thousands of other Chicagoans and ride through Chicago neighborhoods, such as the South Loop, Chinatown, Greek Town and the North Side. The 25-mile ride is mostly flat, so it’s perfect for riders of all fitness levels. Organizers are prepared with 10 repair stations, police officers and course marshals along the route. A rest stop half-way features snacks, restrooms, bike repair and first aid. Your white event t-shirt, that comes with pre-registration, will help you be seen at night. Once you finish back at Buckingham Fountain relax with complimentary refreshments and snacks such as Chobani Greek Yogurt, Prairie City Bakery cookies, Lifeway Foods smoothies, Sweet Leaf Iced Tea and a $7 pancake breakfast as the sun rises over Lake Michigan. Your late night adventure won’t require training either, since it isn’t a race. It’s a relaxing way to experience Chicago at night. There are even prizes for best-lit bike and best-decorated helmet. So don your helmet, break out your reflective tape and swoop in on today’s deal for the ride of your life.
