Climbing up the sides of buildings like Spider-Man is a fantasy of young and old. You can just imagine scaling the side of the Hancock and the people below looking like ants. But web slinging can be a bit sticky and your chances of getting bit by a radioactive spider are slim to none. You can still learn to climb as high as Spidey with today’s Swoop from Chicago Athletic Clubs.
Choose from the following options:
- $59 for a three-week adult beginner rock climbing course with certification and a one-day gym pass at LPAC or LVAC (a $150 value)
- $99 for an All Access 10-climb gym pass (a $200 value)
- $89 for a one-week kids climbing camp, ages seven to 10(a $250 value)
- $89 for a one-week youth climbing camp, ages 11 to 15 (a $280 value)
Each athletic club has a custom climbing wall that looks and feels just like rock. The terrain is perfect for young and old to learn the skill of scaling buildings (or rocks). The beginning adult course at either LPAC or LVAC teaches basic rope, belaying and movement skills. Through this class, you’ll become CAC climber-certified. If you’re already certified, feel free to climb as much as you like with an All Access 10-climb pass. Each climb provides a full day’s access to the LPAC, LVAC or EAC‘s clubs and climbing walls. Take advantage of their steam room and sauna post-climb, or, if you're feeling ambitious, feel free to lift weights, take a group class or go for a run. LPAC and LVAC’s walls offer crack climbing, a horizontal roof, a 30-degree overhang and endurance routes. If you know any kids from age seven to 15 who climb like monkeys on the furniture, sign them up for a one-week climbing camp at LPAC. The outdoor wall will give them fresh air, exercise and a chance to feel comfortable moving high above the ground. Even if you aren’t a kid, swoop in on today’s deal for a chance to climb above it all and feel like a superhero.
